How to make the most of gradireland Live!

With over 77 employers and postgraduate providers in attendance, and 1900 jobs advertised, there is plenty going on at the RDS tomorrow whether you’re looking for THAT job or the right course to guide you towards your ideal career. But there’s a lot more happening besides, from mentoring and seminars to hands on coaching sessions. Let’s take a look at what’s going on and how you can make the most of it.

Speed mentoring

Get valuable face time with someone who is working in an area in which you are interested, these 1-1 interactions will help you understand what’s actually involved, and what skills you will need to build a career in a particular area. We’ve broken these down into five different areas:

  • Tech
  • Science
  • Engineering
  • Management, business and management
  • Marketing, advertising & PR

They’ll run in four hourly sessions from 12 pm until 4pm and then one final session from 4.30 to 5.30pm.

After your speed mentoring session, grab one of our VR headsets and step into a world of careers, with our interactive experience that allows you watch and listen to what’s involved in a range of careers.

Discover if a grad programme is right for you by understanding what they are actually all about. Why should you choose one, and if you do, how do you make sure you choose the right one? Crack the interview

Technical interviews can be daunting, but they don’t have to be. A Guidewire Consulting lead will walk you through the right approach to, how to prepare and how to complete a whiteboard task.

Language Lounge

Languages take you places, no matter what sector you are interested in. Stop by our language lounge for hourly meet & greet sessions between 1 and 6pm where you can chat to employers looking for the following language skills: French, Spanish, German and Nordic (Norwegian, Swedish, Danish, Finnish, Icelandic.)

gradireland Talks

Any gradireland event prides itself on the quality of its seminars and gradireland Live! is no different. With topics ranging from how to apply for research programmes to interviews to CV tips and, most importantly, how to take care of your mental health (3.30-4pm), there really is something for everybody. Get a photo that fits

Now that you have the information you need, you can start work on your application and your online profile, which means a good photo is key. Head down to our photo station at the back of the hall between 2-5 where you can get a photo taken professionally, perfect for applications!

  • Career pathway gallery-walk through our series of career paths, which shows where your career can go across a range of sectors.
  • Enterprise Village: If you have a great idea and want to get it off the ground, head down to enterprise village to tall to others who have done just that and what you need to succeed.
