At the 2018 gradireland Graduate Career Fair, we hosted a panel discussion with Glanbia employees who had recently worked on the company’s Spark initiative, which focuses on the concept of design thinking. Chaired by gradireland Director Mark Mitchell, the discussion focused on how graduates can prepare for future trends in problem solving, creativity and innovation, using Glanbia’s experiences as an example. Essentially, design thinking is a problem solving approach that gives people this creative freedom in the course of reaching solutions. It focuses on solving the user’s (customer’s) problem while improving customer experiences at the speed and scale that organisations demand today.
