April 25th 2019 saw the 13th gradireland Graduate Recruitment Awards held at Dublin’s Mansion House, a gala event for 550 of the country’s leading graduate recruiters, talent developers and industry stakeholders. As always, the awards were held in partnership with the Association of Higher Education Careers Services (AHECS) and gradireland’s sponsorship partners. The 2019 event attracted well over 100 high-quality submissions from many of Ireland’s top employers, with over 150 companies shortlisted for various awards. Over 13,300 students, from north and south, participated in the vote to select Ireland’s most popular graduate recruiter, making it one of the largest gradireland Student Surveys ever, which was conducted by our research partner trendence.
The awards were presented by TV and media presenter Síle Seoige, with the winners chosen from across the graduate recruitment sector, reflecting the range of interest in the awards and the quality of the submissions received. Entertainment was provided by the Dublin Concert Band, with additional acapella entertainment by the 3 Choir and the UCD Dance Society.
Workday a leading provider of enterprise cloud applications were named Graduate Employer of the Year with a graduate intake of over 40, while Musgrave was named Graduate Employer of the Year with an intake of less than 40 . PWC was named as having the Best Specialist/Professional training and development programme, while Musgrave landed the same award in terms of Best Business/Management Training Programme. The Best Graduate Recruitment Website award went to EY and Accenture lifted the prize for gradireland Diversity Recruitment Award. The competition for Best Internship Programme, like last year, was divided into two categories, those companies with an internship intake of less than 50 and those with an intake of over 50. Workday were, for the second year running, named the winner in the former category, while PWC took home the award for the latter. The Graduate Employee of the Year Award went to Tendai O’Connor of Jameson. In terms of the most popular graduate recruiters by sector, some of the winners were; KPMG in Accountancy/Professional Services, A&L Goodbody in Law, Aer Lingus in Logistics & Transport and Intel in Engineering. Following the awards ceremony at the mansion house, the festivities continued in the nearby Cafe en Seine. The gradireland Graduate Recruitment Awards remain a hugely popular, event on the graduate recruitment calendar, representing a unique cross-section of industry, including recruitment professionals, employment stakeholders and careers advisors alongside course providers and academics. gradireland Director Mark Mitchell added that “companies at the gradireland Graduate Recruitment Awards recognise the amazing talent and potential of today’s graduates.
